Blue Bottle Flies are usually thought of as a pest insect, especially when they enter someone's home. They feed on carrion, so actually help as scavangers, but they also are pollinators of some flowers. They are especially fond of flowers in the carrot family, such as Queen Anne's lace. They are also used in managed pollination.
